Abstract
Purpose: The Professional paper that follows meets one of the requirements for the Master of Agriculture program at Texas A&M University. All Students enrolled in the Master of Agriculture program are required to complete a minimum of 28 hours of class room education, participate in a professional internship, compose a professional paper and must pass a final oral examination. The responsibility, skills and knowledge in preparing and presenting this paper can be attributed to the education I have received from Texas A&M University and the experience I gained through my professional internship. Below is a brief description of the responsibilities I accomplished while I participated in my professional internship. I was given the opportunity to work with a member of my graduate committee (Dr. L.R. Sprott) on a project that took place at the Texas Prison System Ranch. My responsibility in this study was to analyze data from this project and obtain research done from other studies and compare to results that were found in this particular study. The research led to an in-depth analysis on comparisons of results from reports dealing with the same issues that we observed. It was my responsibility to present this data in the form of Journal of Animal Science as a professional paper. With responsibilities such as these, I have positively benefitted from my education at Texas A&M University and with the knowledge I obtained from this professional internship.
