The purpose of this study is to apply three-Micrographics. dimensional particle image velocimetry (PlV) technique to study bubble collapse phenomenon. Simultaneous stereoscopic views of the tracer-seeded flow were recorded by three charged couple device (CCD) cameras. A technique has been developed to match the projections of individual seed particles in three views and to obtain three-dimensional coordinates. A multi-frame tracking technique based on the change in the ogles of the traveled seed particles has been developed. A test facility has been constructed to control the air bubble collapse by synchronizing cameras and the laser. Qualitative and quantitative results of instantaneous velocities were delineated. The developed three-dimensional particle identification technique is suitable for extending the PIV application for three-dimensional situations.en
