Repetitive patterns that cover planes have long been phics. of interest to designers, artists, mathematicians, and so on. We developed a system that uses the seventeen plane symmetry groups to create drawings composed of periodic pat-terns. Our system overcomes most of the difficulties in generating periodic patterns. It uses graph drawing concepts that allow the user to create better images and to modify them in real time. We guarantee that the user will be able to draw planar graphs using the symmetry groups. We present examples of drawings produced with our system.en
