In order to demonstrate the applicability of an All-aphics. At-once approach to a multi-disciplinary design problem, we consider the optimization of an aeroelastic, subsonic wing. As a first step, the aerodynamic and structural disciplines are formulated independently for single-discipline All-At-once optimization. Then, the coupled, multidisciplinary All-At-once formulation is presented. Studies are performed which investigate the effects of varying the size of the disciplinary subspace as well as the effects of the starting point on the convergence of the approach. In this study, we use the gradient based optimizer NPSOL; however, the optimizer is treated as a ('black box'' and could easily be replaced by another method. Issues such as organization, implementation, and performance are discussed, as well as the direction of current and future work.en
