Abstract
The best way to meet the challenge of our
ever changing energy technology is pursuit of
knowledge. Trained personnel is the most important
raw material in our plants. With this in
mind, the Central Engineering Division of Exxon
Chemical Company has developed suitable training
programs for a wide audience in our operating
plants as well as in our engineering organizations.
These courses or seminars are mostly
designed for training in specific areas, i.e.,
plant energy systems and steam trap selection
and maintenance. Our approach on the selection
of training materials, program content, and the
use of outside resources for the development of
training programs in these two areas are discussed
in this paper.
