Cone maturity is as follows- cone A, taphonomically degraded (picture 1, left); cone B, taphonomically degraded (picture 2, bottom right); cone C, taphonomically degraded (picture 2, left); cone D, taphonomically degraded (picture 3, right), cone E, basal section (picture 4), cone F, basal section (picture 5), cone G, basal section (picture 6), cone H, basal section (picture 7), cone I, basal section (picture 8), cone J, basal section (picture 9).
Description
These images were used in the research for a master's thesis from the Texas A&M University Dept. of Geology and Geophysics (Date of submission: May 2020).Images were taken from slides on loan from the Harvard Paleobotanical Herbarium.
Cones A, B, C and D are taphonomically degraded.
Cones E, F, G, H, I and J are basal sections.
Mounted peels were made by William C. Darrah.
