Abstract
Cone maturity is as follows- cone A , immature (picture 1); cone B, basal section (picture 2); cone C, immature (picture 3); cone D, immature (picture 3); cone E, basal section (picture 4). Cone E contained 1 golden and 4 brown coprolite wiithin its cone scales. A large oblong coprolite possibly produced by an insect is located near cone E in the matrix (plate 6). Plate 22A is a successive peel taken from the same coal ball as other plates labeled 22.
Description
These images were used in the research for a master's thesis from the Texas A&M University Dept. of Geology and Geophysics (Date of submission: May 2020).Images were taken from slides on loan from the Harvard Paleobotanical Herbarium.
