Cone A (picture 1) is a mature cordaitean cone and cone B (picture 2) is taphonomically degraded. Plate 2B is a successive peel taken from the same coal ball as plate 2A.
DescriptionThese images were used in the research for a master's thesis from the Texas A&M University Dept. of Geology and Geophysics (Date of submission: May 2020).
Images were taken from unmounted peels of coal balls.
Cone A is a mature cone.
Cone B is a degraded cone.
Peels were made by Anne Raymond, the advisor for this thesis.
