Working lunch: Building successful mentoring relationships
MetadataShow full item record
As libraries hire more new librarians whose school experiences, interests, and skills are wide ranging and diverse, administrators and senior librarians face additional pressure to make the transition into the workplace positive and smooth. Developing mentorship programs between senior librarians and new librarians that emphasize getting to know the campus, building informal networks with peers, and building trusting relationships with administrators can improve this process. This poster, which highlights the mentoring experiences of two new librarians at a large membership program and describes the mentorship program, will offer viewers an opportunity to reflect on how they might build a similar program in their libraries.
