This picture was taken at Cape Canaveral before the Mercury Redstone 2 (MR-2) Flight in late January 1961. The flight took place on January 31, 1961 preceding Astronaut Alan Shepard's flight aboard MR-3 on May5, 1961. These were both sub-orbital flights.The installation of space capsule #5 is being lifted to it's Redstone missile in preparation for the launch of "HAM's" sub-orbital flight.
