dc.description.abstractIn the 1940 U. S. Census a James R. Ketchersid age 27 living in College Station, Brazos, Texas lists his occupation as College Professor. He was born in Kansas and a previous residence of Hope, Dickinson co., Kansas. At that time he was married to a Hazel Ketchersid. Dr. Harold Monroe Spangler who was an Instructor at the Veterinary School during circa 1940, left to enter a partnership with Wupperman Animal Clinic near Austin, Texas. Later his son Samuel Carter Spangler studied Veterinary Medicine at Texas A&M, graduating in 1972 and also entering practice with his father.en
