Catherine Bertini, a Professor of Public Administration and International Affairs at the Maxwell School of Citizenship and Public Affairs, Syracuse University and the Former Director of the World Food Program, spoke on October 10, 2013. George H. W. Bush envisioned a kinder, gentler America. His administration succeeded in changing systems, food packages, and organizations to provide more efficient, effective support for hungry Americans and starving people caught in wars and natural disasters in developing countries. Professor Bertini described four of these initiatives that are still thriving today.Collections
