Abstract
Infrared refers to electro magnetic energy with a wave length longer than those of visible light. Researchers developed methods to quantify, focus and form real-time images to infrared energy. This spawned the development of infrared Thenrography. Some of todays more sophisticated infrared instruments are real-time and produce "heat-pictures". These are representations of objects with surface temperatures appearing as patterns upon objects.
