Abstract
This paper discusses energy conservation projects in the area of industrial environment heating and cooling that have been recommended by the Texas A&M University Industrial Assessment Center (IAC) to small and medium-sized industries in Texas.
The projects recommended include space heating heat recovery, HVAC controls and operations, thermal zoning, turn off of the HVAC systems, and demand control by duty cycling of the HVAC systems. The projects were recommended to different kinds of industries including food, printing, petroleum drilling, control and data acquisition systems and furniture. The projects are predicted to save between 0.15% to 3% of the plants' utility bills with average simple payback periods of less than three years.
